Position Overview

About Us:

• Chefshare is a recruitment agency working on the behalf of our client which located outside of Newton abbot and is renowned for its traditional home cooked food.

The Role:

• We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team and play a vital role in our kitchen’s success.
• You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, staff training, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
• This role offers a high degree of creative control, allowing you to showcase your culinary skills and contribute to our evolving menu.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in menu creation and recipe development.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
• Maintain high standards of quality and presentation for all dishes.
• Manage inventory and ensure cost-effectiveness in food preparation.
• Liaise with suppliers to source fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
• Strong understanding of culinary techniques and a passion for creating innovative dishes.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and train a team.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
